Tech/5 Arnold W. Peterman hailed from Sands Springs in Tulsa County, Oklahoma.
He enlisted into the Army from Tulsa on June 5th 1942. Arnold spent two years and four months overseas in the North African and European theatres. He participated in all campaigns from Sicily to central Germany. According to his son Arnold Jr. he made all four combat jumps. After occupation duty in Berlin, September of 1945, Arnold was one of about a thousand 505 troopers that transferred into the 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment to rotate home to the States. The 507th was disbanding and their troopers with low points replaced the 505's high point men.
