Troopers of the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment

 
 

This page is dedicated to Pfc. Lawrence J. Schehl

 
 



      Private First Class Lawrence J. Schehl hailed from the town of Caldwell in Noble County, Ohio. Lawrence entered into Army service on August 5, 1941. He was an original member of G company. The 505 Parachute Infantry Regiment sailed from Staten Island, New York on April 29th 1943 arriving in Casablanca, North Africa on May 10th. Click here to see the April 1943 photo of G company weeks before they sailed overseas. Lawrence made all four combat parachute jumps. He was killed in action near the end of the Holland campaign on October 7, 1944.
